Our History

  • OUTPOST Norwich was founded as an art gallery in 2004 by seven artists and makers. OUTPOST opened its affordable studio complex in 2010 and became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in 2016. OUTPOST facilitates a programme of 5 exhibitions a year, organises a series of offsite projects, events, and artists editions, and runs a membership scheme

    The steering committee provides adults a valuable learning opportunity in understanding and being part of a contemporary art gallery's programming and day to day management. We also provide affordable studios for over 80 local aritsts.

    We provide opportunities for the public to experience and engage in a range of events and exhibitions as well as educational opportunities in the arts

  • Our artistic vision is based on delivering a distinctive, accessible and engaging gallery programme responsive to the interests of artists and our audiences. Our focus is to create the conditions in which artists can thrive and their creative processes and products can be disseminated to diverse audiences locally and further afield
