Our History

  • Cambridge Acorn Project’s mission is to break familial cycles of trauma and poverty, and tackle inequality stemming from adverse childhood experiences. We deliver holistic therapeutic treatment to children, young people and families who have experienced trauma, face financial hardship, and live in the most deprived areas of Cambridgeshire.

Beneficiaries

  • Children / Young People

    Children, young people who have experienced trauma and are living in financial distress. Children and supported through person-centred bespoke therapeutic programmes.

  • Adults

    Supporting parents/carers who have suffered trauma and are living in financial distress to ensure parents/carers are able to create and maintain safe homes for children to thrive.

  • People with Disabilities

    We have high levels of service users who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Our Vision for a better future

  • The children and families we work with have experienced domestic abuse, sexual and/or physical abuse, and neglect. We work holistically providing quick access to long-term therapeutic support. We hope to break cycles of trauma and poverty and we are working towards a future where every family is able to create a safe home where children thrive.

  • Provide bespoke therapeutic packages for children and families who have experienced trauma and face financial hardship promoting emotional recovery.

  • Grow our community wellbeing hubs to ensure more families can quickly access therapeutic support within their communities to tackle trauma and inequality.
