Our History

  • Grace Organisation was set up in 1983 by Daphne Marché MBE, initially to meet the needs of the older members of the African-Caribbean community. The letters ‘GRACE’ stand for Get, Relief, Assistance, Counselling and Encouragement. Over the years it expanded and developed to be what it is now.

  • Grace Organisation aims to contribute to the growth of strong and caring communities, with positive and constructive relationships between different ethnic groups and age groups – supporting and caring for one another but learning from one another as well.

  • Encouraging inter-generational activities as a way of strengthening community and enriching lives

  • Providing more personalised activities, particularly for those living with dementia
