Our History

  • Established by four women in 2024, our first play "Daughter of Bala", on the life of Betsi Cadwaladr, toured 13 venues (including Newport Riverfront) playing to over 1000 people to critical acclaim. We also preformed shortened versions at schools, People Speak Up, U3A, Royal College of Nursing, a Local Authority meeting & Newport Women's Forum.

    Our plays are designed to be toured to any venue making them fully accessible to all audiences, including non regular theatre goers. We also provide talks and Q&A sessions to schools, history and special interest groups.

Our goals to make a difference

  • We aim to educate and inform people of all ages and backgrounds, through accessible performances, about little known stories of exceptional Welsh women.

  • We aim to engage audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds in conversations about their Welsh heritage by touring to both large & small community venues.

  • We aim to collaborate with community groups and other creative artists in Wales. We aim to work across arts disciplines, sharing and developing creative skills.

  • We aim to promote Wales, our Welsh heritage & the Welsh language in our work & to give our audiences a sense of pride and ownership in the stories we tell.

  • We aim to improve audience well-being through entertaining & engaging performances, workshops, audience participation and Q&A sessions.
