Our History

  • The Congo (NBL) & Cymru Cooperation was founded to connect Congolese communities in North and South Wales with wider Welsh society. Born from grassroots events, it celebrates and shares Congolese culture through music, dance, language, and storytelling—promoting unity, pride, and cross-cultural understanding.

  • Our vision is a vibrant, inclusive society where Congolese and Welsh cultures enrich one another. We empower youth, support families, and promote cultural education to break barriers. We aim for a future rooted in pride, unity, and shared opportunity—where heritage is honoured and communities grow together in respect and dignity.

Our goals to make a difference

  • Promote Cultural Exchange Celebrate and share Congolese and Welsh traditions through festivals, workshops, and storytelling events.

  • Preserve Cultural Heritage Document and share Congolese and Welsh history, music, dance, and languages to keep traditions alive across generations.

  • Empower Young People Offer mentorship, leadership programs, and creative outlets to help youth build confidence, identity, and future opportunities.

  • Foster Community Unity Create safe spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and mutual understanding between the African and Welsh communities in North South Wales.
