Our History

  • Newport City Football Club are a well established football club, that offer a seniors platform for men's and women's team. With the merger of Tredegar Park Wolfpack AFC, we now deliver community programmes, beyond a footballing platform, including volunteering, education, health and wellbeing and family engagement. We have 200 beneficiaries.

    We work with children aged from 18 months to 18+. We work with women and girls. We work with FSM, BAME and ALN. We also benefit wider stakeholders including adults and families, with volunteering opportunities and education.

Our Vision for a better future

  • We continue to tackle barriers for diverse communities, including overcoming hygiene poverty, FSM and ASB. Servicing the areas of Duffryn, Maesglas, Pill and Gaer, we continue to engage families, that allow children, siblings, parents and wider stakeholders within club initiatives. We offer a football programme for children aged 18 months to 18+.

Our goals to make a difference

  • Increasing community participation - Increasing the membership/number of beneficiaries, including children, families and volunteers.

  • Improving Health & Wellbeing - Providing programmes beyond football for families, including hygiene poverty initiatives and football engagement.

  • Increasing opportunities for females and girls - Including coaches, football teams and programmes.

  • Improving the skills and education of volunteers/coaches - Supporting coaches with mentoring programmes, education programmes and investment in qualifications.

  • Providing long-term pathways through the brand of Newport City - Players can start at 18 months to 18+, playing junior football, youth and seior.
