Our History

  • Founded in 1927 and run exclusively by a a group of extremely hard working volunteers, Newport Saracens RFC is a Club on the rise and we’re now building the foundations to continue on the path to achieving our vision of truly being a community

    3 years ago, we started with an idea to grow our club to include a mini and junior section. on the first training session we had 6 children, today we have over 60 children attending training and playing for one of 4 age goup teams (Under 8 - Under 11

  • Community

    Our ethos of sport for all at no cost to remove barriers further devolps our links with the local community. Fund raiding and community inclusion raises our profile and allows the club to support areas of deprivation.

Our Vision for a better future

  • Our goal is to grow the Club into a hub for people of all ages, genders, sexuality, ethnicities and religions whilst removing financial barriers to participation. We’ll providing the best facilities possible so people can enjoy sport in a safe environment so we make a positive difference in our wider community

Our goals to make a difference

  • Rugby for all, Expand our rugby offering beyond senior and juniors. Female specific & disability rugby are real possibilities.

  • Facilities, Continuously improve our facilities. Developing a better, more accessible space for everyone.

  • Community, At the heart of Duffryn & Maesglas if the community needs us, we’ll be there

  • Financials, Build on the solid cashflow management achieved during Covid and secure the Club’s financial future
