We know that people are happier and healthier when they are around nature. Most of the 900 homes on this Tower Hamlets housing estate lack access to a private garden, where there is also very little greenery. We will plant trees and hedgerows to create greener, more appealing shared spaces around the estate for residents and for wildlife. Local residents and schools are involved in the design, creation and conservation of a biodiverse green corridor that will breathe new life into the estate.
Our award winning work in schools is delivery-focused and involves transforming school grounds into greener and healthier places to be. We specialise in innovative design, high-quality planting and landscaping, and inclusive engagement of the school community. Working in partnership with children and schools, we create Healthy Playgrounds; urban playgrounds are reimagined and redesigned; with the introduction of trees, forest gardens, food-growing, outside classrooms, woodland play areas.
Trees for Cities are planting thousands of urban trees each year in the UK and around the world, Trees for Cities is building resilience within urban communities against threats facing the natural environment. We plant a range of tree species that enhance structural and functional diversity in woodlands and city streets, creating greener, happier and healthier places to live. Our projects span, estates, community parks and rewilding the UK's urban environment.
