Our History

  • Community Trust's nationally began in 1992 with the main objective being to recycle ex-professionals back into the game by delivering coaching sessions out in the community. The scheme was called 'Football in the Community', and the national initiative was governed by the PFA rather than the football clubs.

    Thousands of children participating in grassroots football, Offering targeted mentoring projects for young people that are at risk of serious youth violence, alternative provision and post 16 education, diversionary activities in areas of deprivation

Our Vision for a better future

  • The Community Trust exists to help and increase participation levels within young people in the local and surrounding communities of Reading, using football and sport as the main engagement tool. The aims of the Reading FC Community Trust are expressed through the motto, ‘Care, Develop, Educate.' We aim to see over 3,500 participants a week

  • To deliver activities to develop and educate people around either local or national issues.

  • Social Inclusion - Using the power of sport to bring together local people

  • Sports Participation - Opportunities for people of all abilities to get involved in sport

  • Health - Improving the health of people of all ages around the Reading area
