Project is focused on supportive vulnerable and disadvnatged children in Newport whom otherwise would be negatively affected by holiday hunger and at risk of involvement with risky behaviours during the holiday periods.
We want to deliver an inter-generational project that encourages the diverse communities of Newport to actively get involved with heritage and share with us their memories of going to watch Newport County AFC matches at Rodney Parade as well as the various other grounds that have been part of our history.
Mental health awareness sessions and mental health first aid training to be delivered to children, young people and adults through a series of engaging workshops delivered by qualified County in the Community staff.
Premier League Kicks provides access to sport and other positive activities for vulnerable and at-risk children and young people in the Beechwood Park area of Newport - keeping them safe and teaching them new skills which support the development of confidence, self-esteem and resilience. This project strongly contributes to reductions in youth crime and anti-social behaviour whilst developing a range of protective character traits in our children and young people.
Our 'Football Memories' project will provide much needed support for older adults in Newport who are suffering from dementia and memory loss, whilst also providing elements of respite for their carers. We will use the engagement strength of football to bring people together to take part in fun and engaging social activities based in the safe, inclusive and inspiring setting of Rodney Parade, home of Newport County AFC.
Girls only after school football programme for girls living in disadvantaged areas of Newport, providing opportunities for improved health and wellbeing, increased skills, confidence and self-esteem. Pathways will be developed to sustain the girls interest in the game, including the development of new teams.
Providing vulnerable and at-risk children and young people in Newport with the opportunity to use their creative skills to improve a local area through developing a street art project which will enhance the look of our storage containers, celebrating the achievements of famous Newport-based people.
