Newport City Council’s (NCC) Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) grant allocations for sport, heritage and culture activities are supporting Newport City’s future vision of becoming ‘Ambitious, Fairer, Greener Newport For Everyone’. The grants follow SPF’s ‘Communities and Place’ investment priorities, and NCC has selected a number of SPF interventions to prioritise. These interventions are aligned with Newport City Council’s strategy 2022-2027 objectives and supporting focus areas.
All applicants apply for grants through the whatimpact.com grant management platform. Grants are available to apply for until the end of 2024 for projects implemented 2024/2025. Applications are evaluated as they are received. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, as allocations will be made on ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
The grants will support Newport's local community through activities and interventions run by the voluntary sector, social enterprises and other organisations. There are three different grants schemes to support heritage, culture and sport related activities, interventions and facilities. The grants can be applied for and used for capital and revenue funding.
The first high-level objective of SPF grants is to enhance social fabric and a sense of local pride. This is done through investment in activities that enhance physical, cultural and social ties and access to amenities. The second objective is to build resilient, healthy, safe neighborhoods and to create innovative approaches to crime prevention.
By registering on whatimpact.com your organisation can apply for grants schemes simply by sharing your organisation and activity profile. We accept applications from registered charities, social enterprises, social impact companies and unregistered community groups. By creating a profile on whatimpact.com, you can also apply for other grants, products, services and volunteering offers on the platform.
