Many BAME children have a huge interest in Cricket and positive engagement through Cricket can provide a catalyst for lifestyle change. The social mix of children from the various affluent/disadvantaged communities promotes positive social cohesion.
The Club supports young Afghan Refugees to settle in Newport, with Cricket being used as a vehicle for engagement. The Club works with UASC to support young unaccompanied asylum seeking refugees, who can't speak English and have no family support

Newport Cricket Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club. It is one of Wales premier Cricket Clubs running 4 men's, 1 women's and 11 junior teams (Boys & Girls)
The Club has a clear structure and pathway for women & girls to participate in Cricket and is proud to have fully functioning Women & Girls cricket sections.
Very little Cricket is played in Newport Schools. The Club aims to develop a Schools programme, with Club coaches going into local Schools to introduce Cricket.
To ensure that Newport Cricket Club has a sustainable future, by reducing the effects of global warming and climate change on the Club’s operations.
'I tell everyone in the council that you're really welcoming and Inclusive and have your logo on slide decks when we talk about partners that we're working with. I'm a huge fan of the club and hope I'll be your way soon with even more young people'
The Cricket Club's 'Sustainable Future' Project is an investment in the long term health, growth and sustainability of grassroots sport. The prospect of young people not being able to take part in sport due to outdated systems is very worrying to me.
