A fun and engaging series of singing workshops for families and young people in Newport. Delivered by professional Choir Leaders, we would give the general public a taste of what it's like to sing with Aloud by delivering fun singing games and teaching sections of key repertoire. We will deliver 3 workshops a day (1 hour each) across 3 weekends in the summer holidays, connecting with existing family events at Tredegar House and the Riverfront. We'll use social media and school links to promote.
Only Boys Aloud is a free choir for young men age 11-19, based in five community locations across Southeast Wales. OBA exists not only to offer creative and expressive opportunities for boys who would not otherwise have the opportunity, but to provide a nurturing and educational environment led by professional music tutors, who act as positive role models. OBA improves self-esteem and life-skills, such as teamwork and respect. The boys enjoy a range of events and performance opportunities.
