Working Families provides free legal advice to mostly low-income and otherwise disadvantaged parents and carers to support them to balance their work and family responsibilities. We support people who are being treated unfairly at work in connection with their parent/carer status, coaching our service users to challenge unjust treatment, negotiate with their employer, request flexible working, and more. We also have over 200 online information and guidance articles on parental employment rights.
Working Families Benchmark is known for being rigorous and respected. It is the only UK benchmark measuring all aspects of flexible working and work life policies, and how these are integrated into an organisation’s values and culture. It gives employers an understanding of what they can do better in creating flexible, family friendly and productive workplaces. We need to upgrade and invest in its technology - so we can enhance reporting, track trends, gain insights and inform/influence policy.
