Imagine not having access to education, healthcare or any basic services just because you don't have a birth certificate. A seemingly avoidable problem but unfortunately it is an issue that is rife in Zimbabwe, particularly amongst the rural communities and orphans. The results are that children cannot study further due to lack of education, preventing them from gaining employment and breaking the cycle of poverty. We work to break this cycle by providing identification to these children.
Our school is in the heart of the slums and provides education to over 280 children that without our school would not be able to access education. The school is in a small rented building that is not fit for purpose so we are on a mission to raise £270,000 so that we can build a sustainable school that will be almost self funded through multiple initiatives within the community.
Our township school started 4 years ago builds a new classroom and add's a new grade every year. This school currently has 100 children that live in a local township in South Africa and with government school over subscribed this is the only access some of these children can get to education. We need support to fund school meals, build a sports field, fund our stationery and resources for the school each year while we build sustainable methods long term.

These Beautiful Elephants face two huge issues that result in death. The illegal ivory trade is when these animals are killed for the tusks and the second biggest issue they face, like in Asia, is Human Conflict. Elephant-human conflict is a result of habitat loss and fragmentation. Through our program we work with a number of local authorities and groups across Africa to save, rescue, research and protect African Elephants. Our main work is in Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
We feel the way to fight all 17 global issues can start with education. Providing a way for inspiring young people to break the poverty cycle and get real life training and experience is the way we believe we can build change ambassadors that accelerate change. Our Scholarship programs are very unique where we offer specially selected scholarships that will influence and change lives. We don't just pay out scholarships we join our participants and help them on their journey.
Since 2005 when we started we have had to down tools and respond to 9 emergency disasters across where we work. From earthquakes, volcanos and Tsunami's to the recent global COVID pandemic we are ready. As soon as a disaster strikes we know time if essential and although fundraising starts and everyone in generous over the first few days we know this is often too late. We fundraise pre-events so that when disaster does strike we can send funds within hours not days to help emergency assistance.
We work on over70 projects around the world and while the majority for most is tackling the UN SDG's we also want to educate, support and empower them to make changes that are also aware of their carbon impact on the world. Many women that live in African townships are often forced to drop out of education at an early age due to poverty and the need to help at home. Caught in the poverty cycle this project aims to break down barriers by providing skills training, mentorship and micro loans to aspiring women that have the drive to setup their own business. All donations help us train and up-skill more women across Africa. We currently run projects in South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique
Youths from Indigenous backgrounds are known to end up in the criminal justice system. Working with the community we respond to their recommendations and now seek to fundraise for a youth sheltered outdoor space to engage young people as well as provide mental health support. This project is incredibly sensitive and we can not disclose all information but every donation is life changing for these young people.
Since March 2020 we have been on one massive rollercoaster. Our number one priority was our projects and so we decided to shut up the office, head home to stay safe but continue to work around the clock raising funds to provide thousands of meals to families in need, fund PPE for front line projects and we funded domestic violence help centres. It's been a challenge but we did it. We now face hard times and for the first time in 16 years we appeal to you for help to keep us going in 2021.
Homeless people has had a rapid increase since COVID-19 and sadly it was already a huge issue on the streets of Cape Town. Working with our homeless partner we help provide a homeless shelter and hot meals for homeless people in the city. Belonging to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community is still illegal in many countries across the world, including countries in Africa. This is a violation of human rights which cause people to face daily discrimination and violence. This project supports LGBTQ activism in Africa to achieve policy change but also to end homophobia at a community level. Advocating for human rights is an essential part to reduce inequality affecting LGBTQ communities in Africa
