Grow@School aims to merge agriculture with education to build resilient & food-secure societies. Students, teachers, & their communities learn about sustainable nutrition & healthy food choices through the specially curated curriculum. Students also experiment with indoor farming & learn about STEM concepts. Some important outcomes of the programme include growing organically to save biodiversity, water conservation, reduction in meat consumption, supporting small & local businesses, etc.
Founded by Prof. Gatrad, World Against Single Use Plastic (WASUP) aims to raise awareness about climate change and the consequences of using plastics. Prof. Gatrad is extremely passionate about environmental conservation and working with students. This programme is designed to run in a cycle of 4 months, targeting the year groups 5-8, while simultaneously engaging with the larger communities for long-term sustainable impact.
"STEAM for Sustainability" We provide students with hands-on kits to discover and learn about the core STEAM concepts - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Students are encouraged to analyse & innovate to create a sustainable and environmentally-conscious society. This is achievable by engaging them in critical and creative problem-solving activities.
Our platform equips schools with all the tools to publish their needs and reach out to the communities for support. This can range from traditional crowdfunding appeals to exciting fundraising raffles and quiz nights! Pledgers, individuals or companies, can donate as much as they like and these are directly received by the schools in their bank accounts. This ensures that the schools have regular access to the support they need in order to do great things for their students.
Some campaigns that schools can publish on our platform also include requesting for resources such as laptops, printers, books, and any other necessary materials that they might require to ensure quality education and care for their pupils. Corporates and other groups can help supply these or donate used-resources which also fulfills the UN SDG12 of 'Responsible Consumption and Production'. This gives pre-loved resources a new lease at life and also supports your local schools.
