The first hackathon, and the overarching project, have the goal of creating a social value data platform with easy to access, credible & transparent data. The first hackathon is a one-week event where a prototype of this data platform is created - with a focus on economic inequality & equal opportunity and Plymouth. This initial pilot hackathon is intended to ‘inform and excite’ ultimately supporting a wider business case to resource a fully scaled UK wide open-source social value data platform.
The hack no 2 will focus climate change and environmental data. The hack will be held at Microsoft in Reading.

DFM provides young people from lower-income communities across Manchester with access to technology, digital skills training and educational support. This project aims to distribute technology to students and families who lack reliable access to devices for learning. These devices will enable participants to complete schoolwork, access online learning resources, develop digital skills and engage in training programmes designed to improve educational attainment and future employment prospects. By reducing digital exclusion, the project will help create more equitable opportunities for young people and support long-term social mobility within underserved communities.
