XLR8 is a fun, educational and impactful programme designed to help children make a successful transition to their secondary school. This journey is not always a successful one for vulnerable pupils and much of the good work in previous years can be undone. Furthermore, the increase in incidents of adolescent mental health can be closely linked to this critical period in a young person's life. Focussed interventions here can help to ensure positive trajectories and happier, more fulfilled lives.
We run a series of recreational activities including art and music therapy for those who have additional mental and health needs and who are currently being home educated. Each session is 6 weeks long and is used as a way not only to educate young people in a range of non-core school subjects but also to help empower and give confidence to them to try new things and to be less socially isolated
We help young people through: 1. Intensive mentoring and coaching sessions that support and challenge young people, helping them to overcome challenges and barriers in their lives. Developing resistance and the mindset to make better choices and help them manage trauma. 2. Improving key employability skills such as team-work, problem solving and resilience. 3. Providing practical support to improve access to employment such as CV writing and job sourcing.

With many services moving ever increasingly online, such as banking & medical appointment booking, it is important to make sure everyone in society has the skills needed to access these more convenient forms of service. This agenda is backed up by the push by the Government to modernise its services via the Transforming for a Digital Future policy

We are also Quality Badge holders from the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.

We are looking for some help - either via skills or through funding to create a clear visual brand identity for It's Our Planet Too... we are a brand for children - we focus on the positive and aim to inspire children to love and care about our environment... it's ECO FUN FOR LITTLE PEOPLE! However, we need to reach children via their parents - predominantly on social media. We would like to complete this as soon as possible, before a new product launch in Q2 2022.
